Shabdartha Prakashan came into existence in 2062 B.S. with a belief that there is at least one important thing to be done by each and every Nepali to assure a good future for our coming generation by stressing upon skilful, knowledgeable and self- reliant activities during this critical and peak hour of time where on one hand dishonest activities are into play and on the other, modernism is ruling our language and literature. Our goal is only to publish best literature as well as morality, knowledge and skill based text-books. Above all, our principal target is to publish dictionaries of different languages by means of Nepali Languages. Side by side we have been publishing text books of schools, campuses, dictionaries of technical words as well as a literacy magazine called “Baijayanti.” We have published 600 and over books in all each one being best of their kinds.

नेपाली भाषा, साहित्य, संस्कृति र शिक्षाले निरन्तर नयाँ मोड, नयाँ स्वरुप धारण गर्दै गएको अवस्थामा, नैतिकता र स्वावलम्बन क्रमिक ह्रास हुँदै गएको बेलामा, शिक्षा ज्ञानबाट जानकारीमा मात्र सीमित हुन थालेको समयमा, राष्ट्रका प्रत्येक क्षेत्र, तप्का र घरघरबाट जागरुक बन्दै प्रत्येक नेपालीले आफ्नो स्वरुप निर्धारण गर्न केही न केही सीपमूलक, ज्ञानमूलक र स्वावलम्बनका उपायहरु अवलम्बन गर्नै पर्दछ भन्ने उद्देश्यसाथ २०६२ साल भाद्र ९ गते स्थापना भएको हो शब्दार्थ प्रकाशन । उत्कृष्ट साहित्य, नैतिक मूल्य र मान्यता, ज्ञानमूलक र सीपमूलक पाठ्य पुस्तक र मुख्य रुपमा नेपाली भाषाको माध्यमबाट शब्दकोश प्रकाशन गर्ने यसको लक्ष्य रहेको छ । साहित्य, स्कूल-क्याम्पसका पाठ्य सामाग्री, भाषा ज्ञान, सीप ज्ञान, र शब्दकोशको साथै वैजयन्ती नामक साहित्यिक पत्रिका पनि प्रकाशन गर्दै आएको शब्दार्थ प्रकाशनले आफ्नो विगतका १२ वर्षमा ६०० भन्दा बढी पुस्तक प्रकाशन गरिसकेको छ ।
